About Leominster Heritage

Leominster Heritage is an independent project exploring, recording and sharing the history of one of England’s most interesting market towns.

The serious bit is the research. We spend a lot of time in archives, looking at old maps, historic photographs, archaeological reports, listed buildings, forgotten businesses, former residents and the physical evidence still surviving in the town. Leominster has a history stretching back well over a thousand years, and there is still a surprising amount left to find.

The less serious bit is how we tell people about it.

We believe historic buildings and local history should be accessible, interesting and occasionally ridiculous. That is how we ended up making songs about corbels and bargeboards, and eventually producing books containing an unreasonable number of photographs of doors and windows.

The Leominster Heritage shop grew out of that project. Our books, objects and other things are designed as an extension of the research and social media, sometimes informative, sometimes deliberately silly, usually both.

Purchases from the shop help support Leominster Heritage CIC and the continuing work of researching, photographing, recording and sharing the town’s history.
